James Baker

James Jeffery Baker (Jeff), age 55 of Banner, KY, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025. Jeff was born May 27, 1970 in Prestonsburg, KY to the late Myrl Baker and Shirley Marie Kendrick Baker. He is survived by his devoted companion in life and love, Lynn Haney; Daughter, Brittany Denise (Aaron) Crum; Grandson, Cameron Peyton Crum; Brother, Myrl Edward “Charlie” (Kristie) Baker; Sister, Lenora Baker; Nieces, Samantha Hollifield (Cameron Murphy) and Alyssa Hollifield. He is also survived by 4 nephews, 2 nieces and 3 great-nephews.

Jeff found his peace on the water with a fishing pole in his hand and his joy in watching the Kentucky Wildcats play basketball. He dearly loved and cared for his two fur babies, Sadie and Ace. He loved spending time with his family and friends and had a special bond with his neighbors, who to him were more like his extended family. Jeff was known for his giving nature and was always willing to lend a hand in need. He gave his time freely, loved to tell stories, and crack jokes. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him, but his spirit of generosity, humor, and love will live on in those lives he touched.
