Carolyn Schroeder

Carolyn Lee Schroeder, 83, of Auburn, IL passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Arc at Sangamon Valley in Springfield. She was born November 16, 1941 in San Francisco, CA, the daughter of Julius W. and Dorothy H. (Kramer) Iaggi. She married Frederick Schroeder in 1984 and he preceded her in death on June 6, 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Iaggi.

Survivors include one daughter, Julia Cherry of Auburn and one son, Ron Cherry of Springfield as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carolyn worked for Springfield Clinic as a receptionist for over 50 years. She loved fishing and camping with her beloved Fred across Central Illinois, in particular, Shelbyville. Carolyn loved being outdoors and spending time with Fred and her kids.

Private family graveside services will be held at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
