Jennie Mae Griffin

Jennie Mae Griffin, 91 years of age, passed peacefully in her sleep on January 1,2022. Jennie Mae was born on December 20th, 1930, in Hampton, Arkansas to Delilah Williams, who preceded her in death. She was one of four children, her brother Jack and sister Mae Willie preceded her in death.

 

 

Early on she became a member of Saint Theresa Holiness Church in Cleveland, Ohio. She met and married Trousie Thrower in 1944, to his union, 6 children were born. Her husband and her three sons Allen, Gregory and Reginald preceded her in death. In 1976, she married the love of you her life, Douglas” Buddy” Griffin, who has also preceded her in death. Jennie had several jobs however, her most cherished was being a homemaker. She was a paranormal cook, everything she made was exceptional. Her specialties include homemade ice cream, cabbage, fried corn, fried chicken and especially spaghetti. She enjoyed picking fresh veggies from the local farm with her children in town. Jennie enjoyed playing cards and especially loved blackjack. Therefore, she was a happy camper when they opened the Horseshoe Casino in Downtown Cleveland. Jennie will be Lovingly missed, and her memories cherished in the hearts of her children, daughters, Claudia (Curtis), Deborah (Tyrone-Deceased); Sons’ Trousie Jr., and Brian; 17 Grandchildren; 45 Great-grandchildren, 13 Great-Great-grandchildren, 1 sister, Helen; a dear niece Betty; and a host of other family and friends.
