Cletis Anderson

We are saddened to announce the passing of Cletis Anderson. Please join us as we lift his family in our prayers.

Cletis Elton Anderson was born on June 18, 1957, and passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in Panama City, Florida, under the care of Vitas Hospice.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Augusta and Myrtice Anderson, and his sister, Martha Sue James. A lifelong resident of Apalachicola, Cletis spent most of his life working as a commercial fisherman. The water was his livelihood, but also his peace—a place where he felt most at home.

Cletis will be remembered for his quiet strength, his easygoing spirit, and the way he found joy in simple things. He loved his family deeply and was proud of the life he lived close to the coast he cherished.

He is survived by his nephews, Steve James and wife Danielle, and Greg James and wife Shelley, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews who will carry on his memory.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at First Pentecostal Holiness Church.
