Matthew Williams

Matthew S. Williams, 44, of Peoria passed away unexpectedly at home on July 19,2025. There will be no services at this time. Cremation rites have been accorded. Wasmer Funeral Home is privileged to assist the family.

Matt was born August 6,1980 in Marion, Indiana to Barry and Frances (Castle) Williams. He attended Seeger Memorial High School in Indiana where he was involved in band and baseball. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hiking, fishing, and camping. Matt’s greatest joy was his children and extended family.

He will be greatly missed by his children: Shelby Williams of KY., Shyanna Lister of KY., Dane Williams of Mendota, grandson Xzylas Allen, parents: Barry (Deb) Williams of IN., Glenn Castle of IL., grandpa John Keenan, siblings: Jennifer Escatel of Mendota, Kylie Castle of Dixon, Laci Perry of IN, Adam Williams of IN., aunt Lori (Williams) Shelby of IN., uncle Darren Castle of TX., nieces: Madison Smith, Morgan Thompson, Ella Escatel, nephews: Ethan Escatel, Carter Full, great niece Wrenley Griggs, and great nephew Wyatt Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother Frances (O’Mara) Castle, brother Michael Dane Williams, grandmas: Nancy Williams, Daphne Keenan, LaDonna O’Mara, grandpa John O’Mara, aunt Judi Kaniewski and uncle David Kaniewski.
