Alice States

Alice Ann Turpel was born on July 23, 1935 and entered into the kingdom of Heaven on April 11, 2025. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, moved to Indiana later in life and attended Grovertown High school. She had 4 children, Brenda Walters (John) Beverly Middleton (David), Myrtle Graves (David), and preceded in death by her son, Ralph Wells. She was married to , and preceded in death by her husband of forty two years, Albert States. She has three living brothers, Dick Ross, Bill Ross, and Bob Jones and was preceded in death by her sister Loretta Locke and her brother, Curt Bork. She had seven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Satsuma. She was a strong Christian who loved reading and discussing the Bible.

Alice was a nurturing mother, and many of her children’s friends called her “mom”. Some of her hobbies included sewing, cooking, dancing, traveling, and playing bingo and video games with her grandchildren.

She moved to Florida in 1963, and lived in Orlando until 1988, when she relocated to Satsuma, Florida. She loved living in Florida and would rather live in Florida than anywhere else. She will be greatly missed and leaves a legacy of love and laughter for her family and friends.

Alice’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, May 10, 2025, 11:00 AM at Hope Lutheran Church.  In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Hope Lutheran Church.
