Gail Joyce Stoverock, 88, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 10:55 PM, Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at her home in Hannibal, MO.

Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. Pastor Tim Goodman will officiate. Burial will be at Grand View Burial Park in Hannibal, MO.

Friends and Family are invited to Gail’s Life Celebration at a visitation that will be from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the funeral home.

Gail was born February 1, 1937, in Hannibal, MO to Lewis R. Haines and Elva A. Huffman Haines Cope.

She was married to Paul Stoverock Jr. in July of 1959. He preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Jason Stoverock of Hannibal, MO; adopted family, Sandy Lowe and family; and special friend, Shannon Mudd.

Gail was preceded in death by her parents; father-in-law, Paul Stoverock Sr.; mother-in-law, Lydia Stoverock.

Gail was a graduate from Hannibal High School with the Class of 1955.

Gail was a clerk at Haines Bros. Home and Auto Supply. She later worked for Like’s Jewelry, Hannibal National Bank, North Missouri Lumber Company, and Stoverock Tire and Auto Repair.

Gail’s days were filled with the simple pleasures of life, from tending to her floral beds to cooking. Gail’s passion for the outdoors was evident in her fondness for long walks, where she found peace in the beauty of nature. A talented cook, her fried pork chops, milk gravy, and fried corn were among her signature dishes. Gail’s love for shopping was evident, she enjoyed her daily trips to Dollar General and County Market; and occasional adventures to thrift stores. In her younger years, Gail loved to golf. Gail’s joy was magnified when surrounded by her family during frequent gatherings camping at the Bay and fishing. Most of all, Gail cherished the moments spent with her family, friends, and pets.

Gail was Christian by faith and a member of First Christian Church in Hannibal, MO.

Pallbearers will be Shawn Dryden, Gerald Whelan, Alexandria Lowe, Paul Davis, and Jason Stoverock.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Loving Care Hospice, Meals on Wheels, or the Northeast Missouri Humane Society.
