Barbara A. Freemont was born January 25, 1947 in Woodstock, Illinois to Melvin and Elizabeth (Durlin) Regnier.  She passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at her home in Darien.

Barbara has had many different careers in her life but she was most proud of being one of the first female police officers in McHenry county.

She will be missed and is loved by many. Everyone that she met she turned into her family. She was a very special lady.

Barbara is survived by her children David Button, Richard Button, Elizabeth (Don Stegner) Kautz, and Jessica (Caleb) Square; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brothers Donald (Donna) Regnier, Richard (Julie) Regnier, William (Lisa) Regnier, and Robert (Karen) Regnier; sister JoAnne (Richard) Jenkins; and brother -in-law Raymond Meyer.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Freemont and sisters Marianne (Alan) Peterson and Katherine Meyer.

Services will be scheduled for later next year.
