Nancy Wlcek

Nancy Louise Wlcek, age 67, of Stratford, passed away on her birthday May 31, 2025, in Bridgeport Hospital. Nancy was born in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late Zoltan and Irene (Szakal) Wlcek and was a lifetime area resident.

After graduating from Stratford High School Class of 1976, Nancy earned her Associates Degree and enjoyed many careers in life; her favorite and most fulfilling was that of being a waitress. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking for her son Christopher, watching Jeopardy and gardening.

Her quirky personality and love of clowns was shared by many who loved her. One saying she enjoyed was “Keep calm and be crazy, laugh, love and live it up because this is the oldest you’ve been and the youngest you’ll ever be again.”

Nancy leaves behind her three sons Matthew Chirico and his wife Samantha of Vernon, Zane Carey and his husband Zachary Dillon of Stratford, and Christopher Carey of Stratford; one brother John Wlcek of Lake Tahoe, CA, and one sister Barbara Cowperthwaite and her husband Jay of Milford as well as many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family are invited to attend a graveside service on Thursday June 5, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in Union Cemetery, Temple Court, Stratford, CT 06615.
