Paula Kay Wiest, 80, of Manhattan passed away on September 16, 2025 a few days before her 81st birthday. Born in Chicago on September 26, 1944 she attended Lyons Township High School in Illinois prior to spending her senior year at Westfield High School in Westfield, NJ. She was graduated from Cornell University in 1966. Paula served for many years as a Telecommunications Manager at City College of New York. Paula lived her adult life in Manhattan and took full advantage. She loved the opera, theater, ballet, and museums. Late in life she made a return visit to Chicago, near her early family homes in Illinois, and visited the Art Institute along with attending a Cubs game. She was also an active athlete throughout her life. She skied with a large group of senior athletes, traveling frequently to Europe and the American-West to pursue her passion. She swam regularly and was an equestrian at Fox Hill Farm, Pleasantville, NY well into her final years. She loved every bit of her family and took every opportunity to attend outings and holiday events. 

Pre-deceased by her parents, Quentin William and Myrtle Anne, she is survived by siblings Myrtle Anne Kassover and husband Jeff of Pompton Lakes and Quentin William Wiest II and wife Betty of Travelers Rest, SC. She is survived by nieces and nephews Lynn Kassover of Pompton Lakes, Dana Kassover and husband Robert Telofski of Lincoln Park, Quentin Wiest III and wife Caroline of Manhattan, Whitney Beisler of Middletown, Maryland, and Julia Parke and husband John of Lake Leelanau, Michigan. She is also survived by grand nieces and nephews Alex Elizabeth Sommers and husband Zach of Lake Hiawatha, Theodore Richards Wiest, William Mark Beisler, John Preston Parke IV, and Calvin Quentin Parke. 

Arrangements were entrusted to Feeney Funeral Home of Ridgewood. Wake, 5-8 pm, Wednesday, September 24. Funeral, 10 am, Thursday, September 25, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Ridgewood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Paula’s name to the Metropolitan Opera, Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio.
