Richard Coccia

Richard S. Coccia, of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 21, 2025. He was 73 years old. Born November 2, 1951, in Norristown, he was the son of the late Anthony and Marion (nee Kozak) Coccia, and the beloved husband of Susan K. (nee Chambers) Coccia, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage.

Rich, also known as “Scoash” & “Uncle Buck” to all of his friends and family, ran a successful catering business for many years after a career of owning a bread route. He enjoyed golf and all sports, always with a smile on his face and was a tremendous golfer. Gambling was in his blood; he made smart bets and was a very good blackjack player, he loved the thrill of the game.

“Pop” was devoted to his grandchildren, and until recently would attend as many games as possible to watch Jeremy & Ty pitch, in any state. He treated his grandchildren like kings, they could do no wrong. He gave Will a strong work ethic, and in his later years Rich and Will enjoyed trying different pizza places & cheese steaks; and we can;t forget their love of Zeps. Lastly, he loved his wife. Their most precious moments were spending time with family, and traveling to Myrtle Beach and Las Vegas. Through sickness and health, they were by each other’s side.

In addition to his wife Susan, Rich is survived by his son; William M. Coccia (Stacie) and two grandsons; Tyler and Jeremy.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Rich’s Life Celebration visitation on Thursday, September 25, from 6 to 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000. All other services will be private.
