Linda Lou Duncan

Linda Lou (Williams) Duncan, Age 73 of Oak Ridge, TN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at her home after a battle with Alzheimer’s. She was born in Jamestown, TN, on October 7, 1951. She was a devoted wife of 34 years and stepmother to David’s twin boys, Bryan and Brent.

Linda enjoyed Lady Vols basketball games for many years, being a season ticket holder and always watching away games on TV. She enjoyed going on drives in her Corvette with David and friends Nick and Ann Thompson. She loved her dogs, Missy, Princess, and Bella. She enjoyed riding and competing in local horse shows, many times because of her love of the American saddlebred. Linda shared a love of cooking with her mother and sister, Cheryl.

Linda grew up in Jamestown, where she graduated from York Institute in 1969, then graduated from Tennessee Tech University in June 1974 with a degree in office management. She began working at K-25 in Oak Ridge, she later moved to SAIC and later X-10 where she retired in the fall of 2017. Linda loved her nephews, Eric and Gregory, with whom she shared a love for cars and cheering them on in their adventures.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Sammie J and Lou Nell Williams; grandparents, Guy and Gladys WIlliams and Clarence and Pearl Atkinson. Mother-in-law Flossie Duncan, Father-in-law Earl Duncan.

Linda is survived by her husband, David Duncan of Oak Ridge, TN, and sister Cheryl (Larry) Crabtree of Jamestown. Bryan Duncan (Tina) of Clinton, TN and Brent (Angie) Duncan of Clinton. Sister in law Maxine Duncan, Nephew Sam Duncan (Diane) of Knoxville, TN, Nephews Eric Crabtree and Gregory Crabtree of Mooresville, NC. Special friends Nick and Ann Thompson, Caregivers Marie Howard and Melinda Eaten.

Pall Bearers will be: Eric Crabtree, Gregory Crabtree, Larry Crabtree, Bryan Duncan, Brent Duncan, Nick Thompson.

Family will receive friends at Weatherford Mortuary on Wednesday September 10, 2025, from 4:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral will follow at 7:00pm. Graveside services Thursday September 11, 2025 at 11:00AM. Weatherford Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
