Lee Roy Elliott, age 94, of Elizabethton, Tennessee passed away on Friday, August 22, 2025 in Elizabethton. Lee Roy was born in Elizabethton on September 27, 1930 to the late Vanhoy and Stella Curd Elliott. In addition to his parents, Lee Roy was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jim Elliott and Conley Elliott.
Lee Roy retired as an estimator at Holston Defense after 24 years of dedicated service. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War and a member of First Christian Church of Elizabethton.
Those left to continue Lee Roy’s legacy include his beloved wife, Mary Lou Branch Elliott of the home; his son, Marvin Elliott and wife Deborah of Knoxville, TN; his daughter, Amy Hyder and husband Jeff of Knoxville, TN; five grandchildren: Scott Erquhart and wife Lauren of Thomson, GA; Nathan Elliott of Vilas, NC; Kyle Erquhart of Taylorsville, NC; Rachel Emr and husband Kevin of Troy, NY and Weston Hyder of Knoxville, TN; twelve great grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Elliott of Johnson City, TN; and two sisters, Shirley Sanders of Johnson City, TN and Patsy Elliott of Watauga, TN. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of life service for Lee Roy Elliott will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Sunday, August 24, 2025 in the Chapel of Hathaway Percy Funeral Home of Elizabethton with Dr. Marvin Elliott and Mr. Michael Klaus, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Gene Estep. The family will receive friends between the hours of 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel prior to the service on Sunday.
The graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025 at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Dr. Marvin Elliott officiating. Military honors will be accorded at the graveside. Those wishing to attend the graveside are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 PM on Monday.
