FULLERTON—Doris Brown, 88, of Fullerton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 20, 2025, at Accura HealthCare in Fullerton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Palmer-Santin Funeral Home in Fullerton, with Pastor Vern Olson officiating. Burial will follow at Glenwood Cemetery in rural Palmer. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at the funeral home. Palmer-Santin Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Doris was born on February 18, 1937, in Missouri to Tony and Gladys (Wilson) Bales and was raised in Gascozark, MO. On June 1, 1955, she was united in marriage to Dyke Brown in Richland, MO. The couple made their home on a farm west of Fullerton, where they built a life together.

Throughout the years, Doris worked as a cook at several establishments, including the Bel-Horst Inn in Belgrade and B Z’s Café in Fullerton, which she co-owned with Liz Zarek. She cherished life on the farm, especially caring for her animals and tending to her garden. Above all, Doris loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Rex Brown of Fullerton; eight grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Thomas Ziemba of Genoa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dyke Brown; her parents, Tony and Gladys Bales; her son, John Brown; daughters, Sally Watson and Susan Ziemba; grandson, Thomas Ziemba Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.
