Christine Marie Rummans

Christine Marie Rummans, 45, of Springfield, died on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at HSHS St. John’s Hospital. She was born April 6, 1976, in Springfield, the daughter of Gary C. and Darleen G. (Carncross) Ahrens.

Survivors include fiancé, Ben Reilly of Springfield; father and stepmother, Gary C. and Ellen Ahrens, both of Chatham; four sons, CPL Tucker R. Rummans of Ft. Pendleton, CA USMC, Brayden I. Rummans of Dawson, Camden K. Rummans and Griffin M. C. Rummans, both of Williamsville; sister, Lynn (Robert) Gerton of Springfield; stepsister, Michelle (Thomas) Cole of Winfield; and stepbrother, Nicholas (Dena) Bliss of Chatham.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Darleen G. (Carncross) Ahrens; and grandparents, Kennith and Letha Ahrens and Jack and Violet Carncross, all of Springfield.

Christine graduated from Glenwood High School, Chatham, in 1994 and Central Christian College of the Bible in Moberley, MO in 2002. She previously worked at Bank of Springfield, Memorial
Medical Center and Sangamon County 911 Dispatch, all in Springfield. She was a member of Eastview Baptist Church in Springfield.

Christine loved to read, especially with her boys. She enjoyed her time at family gatherings and loved to hear stories that her grandparents shared. She like playing pinochle and always enjoyed a good prank. She loved to laugh and have fun. Christine cared deeply for others and was always willing to help those in need. She was very compassionate at the places she worked. She and her fiancé, Ben, loved to spend time with their cats, Tobey and Mayday. Christine will be greatly missed by many.

Visitation: 4 – 7 pm, Friday, December 10, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield.

Funeral Service: 10:00 am, Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Staab Funeral Home – Springfield, with Pastor Bennie Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastview Baptist Church.
