Naomi Lidya Gerrard

In Loving Memory

On Thursday, December 2, 2021, Naomi Lidya Gerrard, formerly of Garden City, Michigan, passed away and is now with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She was 84.

Preceded in death by her husband John, Naomi was the loving mother of Al (Carol), David (Penny), Steven (Angie), and Jennifer (Brian) Ference, grandmother to Joel, Jordan (Allison), Nathan (Sophat), Jeremy (Chelsea), Hayley (Ben), Ben, Ella, Levi, Thatcher and Cabot, and 10 great-grandchildren.

Naomi L. Carducci was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on April 3, 1937.  After marrying John Gerrard on March 10, 1956, they emigrated from Argentina to the United States in 1960, settling in Southern Michigan.  She was a stay at home mother while their children were young, then later worked as a teacher’s aide for mentally disabled adults in the Wayne County and Livonia, Michigan School Districts.  Eventually she became an aide teaching English as a second language.

Along with her husband, Naomi enjoyed being a member of both Plymouth Road Bible Chapel and later Lakepointe Bible Church in Plymouth, Michigan, where she served on hospitality committees sharing her love of cooking and baking with the church community.  She treasured the many dear and lifetime friendships made through her church family.

She will be remembered by her family and friends for her loving, and faithful spirit.

A memorial service in Naomi’s honor will be held at a later date.
