It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Salvatore C. Caridi Sr, who departed on August 26th at the age of 94. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength.
A proud veteran, of the United States Navy from 1948-1951, Salvatore served his country with honor and dedication during his time in the military. As a skilled construction worker with Caridi Landscape Construction, he took great pride in his craft, leaving behind a lasting mark on every project. What stood out just as much as his skill was the way he carried the responsibility of mentorship. He always shared his knowledge, guided new workers, and passed down lessons learned from years of experience. He was a true mentor in his field. Later in life he found joy as a private chauffeur at News Corp.
Salvatore is survived by his children, Marilyn (Joseph), Carmen (Kim), Sal (Kathy), Kim (Frank), Darlene, and Tommy (Dawn); his 11 grandchildren: Nicole, Frankie (Lauren), Danielle, Jaclyn, Samantha (Chris), Kristina, Bienvenido, Taylor, Robbie (Chana), and Michael (Bree); and he was an elated Great Grandfather to Eva, Noemi, Isara, Raegan, Finley, Donovan, Sophia, Ben, Brianna, and Galilee. He is also survived by his sister Rosie (Manny), brother-in-law Kevin, sister-in-Law Joan Caridi, and many nieces and nephews.
Salvatore is predeceased by his parents, John and Mary Caridi, his son, John, his grandson, Vincent, his nine siblings: Tony, Pete, Josephine, Carmello, Paul, John, Phyllis, Mary, and Carol, and his former wife, Marie SanMarco.
Those who knew Salvatore will remember his quiet strength and generous spirit whether it was through a smile, kind word, or a helping hand. He touched lives in profound ways.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.
