Jack Daniel Taylor

Jack Daniel Taylor, 77, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away November 26, 2021, at Pardee Hospital after a courageous battle with COVID-19. Born in Asheville, NC, to the late Chesley Mathis and Jennie Melvina Hylton (Stuart); brothers Jimmy Sorrells and James Mathis and stepson Marvin Taylor.

Jack was a proud US Navy Veteran. In May 2011, he started working with Alpha & Omega Transportation as a truck driver. He loved vintage cars, western television shows and puzzle books. Jack enjoyed browsing at flea markets, building things for his wife Gail and spending time with family. He was a fan of country music, especially Johnny Cash and Red Sovine. He was smart, funny, compassionate, charismatic, caring, loving, and loved by many. He will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish Jack’s memory are his wife of twenty-five years Gail Ann Taylor; daughters Danella Charmane Carroll and her husband Bobby Arnold of Winchester, VA; Barbara Ann Imes and her husband Warren Imes of Gore, VA; Christine Marie Taylor and her husband Scott Six of Chambersburg, PA; stepdaughter Michelle Taylor of Milledgeville, GA; stepson Mark McCoy Taylor of Hendersonville, NC and brothers Tony McCoy Taylor of Candler, NC and Calvin Hylton of Asheville, NC. Jack also leaves behind fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
