Bessie Bellock

Bessie Bellock, age 102, longtime Lombardian, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 20, 2025, at her home.

Bessie was the dear wife of the late Harry C. Bellock, dear mom of Harry D. (Patricia) Bellock, Rose Johnson, Jeanne (the late Don) Frabasilio, Elaine (the late Dan) Simkowski, George (Leslie) Bellock, the late Steven (Sue) Bellock, Diane (Patrick) Arlis, Jim (Kathy) Bellock and Michael (Nicole) Bellock; grandma of 29; great-grandma of 46; great-great-grandma of 7; and sister of Patricia, the late Edna, the late Emma, the late Robert, the late Roseanne and the late Shirley.

She was a real-life Rosie the Riveter, working in the factory during World War II.

She worked at Holy Trinity Church in the nursery until she was 81 years old where many of the children she cared for affectionately called her grandma. She also had been the secretary for her oldest son‘s construction company until she was 92. She was proud to have worked and drove her car until she was 95. Bessie was a proud centenarian.

A celebration of life will be held on August 24th, 2025 from 1:00 PM-5:00 PM at 819 Fairfield Ave, Lombard, IL 60148.

In lieu of flowers, Donations in Bessie’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, would be appreciated.
