Paraska (Pearl) Kocur

Paraska (Pearl) Kocur, age 94, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 28, 2021. Mrs. Kocur was born on August 3, 1927 in Uhryniv, Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine to Wasyl and Anastasia Mikuliak.
She married Iwan (John) Kocur in Ganacker, Germany on Feburary 26, 1949. After WWII in 1952, Paraska and Iwan moved to Chicago where they became U.S. citizens.
Paraska and Iwan had five children Taras (the late Irene), Oksana (Fr. Mykhailo), John (Denise), the late Jaroslav, and the late Fr. Bohdan. Paraskevia was dedicated to her children and home.
Cherished grandmother to Tatiana (Bartek) Snigurski, Markian (Heather) Kocur, Olena (Andrew) Tefft, Josyf (Tina Grieco) Kuzma, Yuriy (Anna) Kuzma, Maria Kuzma, Anna Kuzma, Laura (Joshua) Long, Alison (Ian Buck) Kocur, and the late Andrea (Ron) Andres. She also was blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren. She was a long-time member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church in Chicago.
A visitation will be held at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, 116 E. Illinois Street, Palatine Illinois 60067 on Friday, December 3, 2021, 9:30am until 10:30am with the funeral service beginning at 10:30am. Immediately following the service, internment will be at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, 8851 W Higgins Road, Chicago, IL 60656.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, 745 S. Benton Street, Palatine, Illinois 60067.
The family is requesting masks and social distancing during visitation and the service. The funeral service will be streamed at https://icshrine.org/divine-liturgy-broadcast/
