It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Abby, who departed this life peacefully at her home at the age of 47, following a courageous two-year battle with cervical cancer.
Born on September 19, 1977, in Normal, Illinois, Abby brought light and laughter wherever she went. To know her was truly to love her. She was incredibly intelligent, quick-witted, fiercely loyal, and proudly independent. Always fashionably late, Abby often said, “Always late, but worth the wait” and we couldn’t agree more.
Abby had a remarkable way with people. She cherished her close-knit friend group, The Great 8, and built strong, supportive relationships throughout her professional career. More than anything, she loved showing up for her people, helping, guiding, and anchoring those around her. Abby was the moral compass and voice of reason in our family, always ready to keep us in check—especially her husband, Serge, and brothers, K.C. and Chris—with a grace and authority that only she could carry, like the true boss she was.
While she accomplished much in her life, Abby’s greatest pride and joy was the beautiful life she built with Serge and their two sons, Quinton and Grayson. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, auntie, and friend — and her absence leaves an unfillable space in all our hearts.
We will miss her more than words can ever express.
Abby is survived by her loving husband, Serge; their two sons, Quinton and Grayson; her mother, Cathy; brothers, KC (Lacey) and Christopher (Katarina); half-sister, Jena (Kevin); sister-in-law, Natasha (Adam); mother-in-law, Irene; and beloved nieces, Addison, Ivy, Everly and Baby G, Jessica, Sara, Dylan, and nephew, Austin as well as numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Jody, and father-in-law, Vadim.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Foundation for Women’s Cancer.
