Darlene Peterson, 87 passed peacefully on July 28, 2025, at Edgemont Place in Blaine,Minnesota. Darlene was born July 2, 1938 in Menominee, Michigan to the late Lester “Bob” Sobay and Dorothy (Manske) Sobay. Darlene graduated from Menominee high school. She then married her high school sweetheart, the late Reginald Peterson on December 21, 1955. They were married for 65 years. Darlene was a member of Resurrection Cathoic Church. She worked at LE Jones and at Bertsch Company as an inside sales manager. When she was not working, she enjoyed golfing, gardening, baking and crocheting. Once retired, she and Reggie enjoyed spending their winter months in Florida.
Darlene is survived by sons Brian (Dawn) Peterson, Scott (Trisha) Peterson; daughter Kellie (Brian) Nielson. Grandchildren: Casey (Josh), Brett (Linda), Justin, Kelsey, Alex (Madison); Great grandchildren: Ryan, Aaron, Bennett, Hayden, Connor and Dylan; Brother: Pat (Kathy) Sobay; Sister-in- Laws: Diane and Zoie Sobay; Brother-in-Law: Steve Peterson; and many other family members and friends.
Along with her parents, Darlene is preceded in death by her husband, Reggie, grandson Jackson Nielson, brothers Ronald and Michael Sobay.
The family would like to thank the staff at Edgemont Place and Ecumen Hospice for their exceptional care with Darlene.
Visitation will be held at Cadieu Funeral Home on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 pm with Father Jamie Ziminski presiding. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Cadieu Funeral Home is assisting the Peterson family with arrangements.
