Lawrence J Cleveland Sr.

Lawrence J. Cleveland, Sr. age 80, of Shaker Heights, passed away suddenly on November 2. His memory will be carried out by his daughter Kimberly Poindexter, sons Lawrence J Cleveland Jr, (Aurora) William Cleveland (Jessica), grandsons Brandon Cleveland (Kelsey), Tyrone Poindexter, Jahred Cleveland, granddaughters, Danielle Poindexter, Alicia Poindexter, Myla Cleveland and Great granddaughters, Iris Cleveland, Eloise Cleveland and Beatrice Cleveland, his remaining sister Evelyn McCreary and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Born in Warren OH, the youngest of 12 born to the late Fred and Jemescoe Cleveland.  Lawrence, known affectionately as “Larry” or “Redman” was the life of the party.

Larry graduated from Middle Ridge High School and served this country as a member of the Navy.  After working for over 30 years, he retired from LTV Steel.  Larry married Iris Cherry and from that union had Kim and Larry Jr.  Larry later married Voletta McDaniels and from that union had Will.  Larry, “Redman” spent many years with his bonus family, Karen Ray, Tekara and Chris.   Larry loved to entertain his family and friends at his annual cook out and loved to make his special sauce.  In his quiet time, you could find him watching sports (all of them) and reading the paper.
