Jeannine Hilb

Jeannine Lee Hilb, a beacon of love and adventure, passed away on August 4, 2025, the day of her 70th birthday, in Glenview, IL. Born on August 4, 1955, in Chicago, IL, to her loving parents Raymond and Jean Bouvin, Jeannine’s life was marked by her spirited nature and boundless enthusiasm for the world around her.

Jeannine approached life with a sense of gusto and a flair for mischief and adventure. She was a lover of being outdoors and spent much of her summers on a boat skiing and swimming with family and friends. She loved to catch the biggest fish and be the last one to quit any adventure. She was a great lover of music and became quite an avid line dancer. Jeannine was always a character. Her pet skunk was a testament to her unorthodox and loving nature, and the story of how she brought home a horse she had found wandering alone is still told with fondness and a touch of disbelief.

Above all, Jeannine loved her family dearly. She is survived by her parents Jean and Raymond Bouvin, her sister Christine Conliss, her children, Rae Bouvin (married to Edgardo Vargas) and Tom Hilb (married to Carrie Spears). Being a grandmother was her greatest joy in life. Her grandchildren, Evan, Elian, Adrian, Conner, Diego, Isabelle, Matthew, Jeffrey, and Tanner will remember her as the grandmother who could transform any ordinary day into an extraordinary adventure. She loved every single person in her entire family, with all of her heart including her sister Lynn who preceded her in passing. She was the daughter, mother, sister and auntie that loved to have fun and take you out to explore the world.

Those who knew Jeannine would describe her as loving, adventurous, and spirited. She was a woman who embraced life with open arms and who encouraged others to do the same. Her absence will be deeply felt by all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.

Jeannine’s life will be celebrated in the memories of her family and the countless stories of joy, laughter, and the occasional surprise horse. Her legacy is one of love, laughter, and the courage to embrace life’s adventures. As we bid farewell to Jeannine Lee Hilb, we hold close the light she brought into this world, and we are reminded to live each day with the same passion and excitement that she did. Her spirit, like her memory, will forever be cherished and will continue to inspire us all.
