Catherine Volpe (1942-2025)
Catherine Volpe, 82, of Highland Mills, NY, surrounded by loved ones, passed peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Catherine was born in Brooklyn, NY in 1942 to Carmen and Carlo Abbio.
Catherine married the love of her life, Gerlando Volpe, in Brooklyn, NY in the year 1961.
Catherine had been employed as a financial planner for many years at Lincoln Financial Advisors in Paramus, NJ and taught the confirmation class in CCD at St. Patrick’s Parish for 10 years. She enjoyed traveling the world with her friends and family.
Catherine was preceded in death by her sister Caroline, and brothers Carlo and Carmine Abbio.
Catherine is survived by her sister Domenica Clara Carasco, daughter Teresa and son-in-law Thomas Meola, her son Christopher Volpe, and daughter Catherine G. Volpe. She was a grandmother to Alexandra Pacheco, Thomas Meola Jr, Nicholas Meola, Alice Marie Volpe, and Vincenzo Pascarella. She also loved her four great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Eirena Molina; daughters of Alice Marie Volpe and Fraea Molina; Averie Pachecco; daughter of Alexandra and James Pacheco; and Ilias Pascarella; son of Madison and Vincenzo Pascarella. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Alice Abbio, as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and the many friends she made throughout her life.
Catherine will always be fondly remembered for her wisdom, her strong nature, and the way she was a consistent rock in her family. We couldn’t have asked for a better woman, and will miss Catherine every day. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved her. Her faith was her anchor, and her legacy is one of love, service, and trust in God.
The family would like to thank the many nurses, CNA’s, friends and family who dedicated their time taking care of Catherine over the past few years. We appreciate the dignity and care you bestowed upon her.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Funeral Mass for Catherine Volpe will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Church in Highland Mills on August 7th, 2025, at 11:00AM.
A Celebration of Life will immediately follow the Mass, in the social hall located at the lower level of St. Patrick’s Church.
