Jonathon Matthew Caldwell, 45, of Lindon, Utah, passed away on July 16, 2025, surrounded by loving family.
Jon was born on October 29, 1979, in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, the son of Gary Caldwell and Vickie Perkins—the fourth child of four sons and two daughters. The family moved to Lindon when Jon was nine years old. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and swimming. He was also a huge fan of video games.
He received his GED in 1998. He attended Pleasant Grove High School, where he met his best friends: Joe, Jake, and Wes.
Jon worked at a variety of companies, including the Tiffin Room at ZCMI, DHL, FedEx, and, most recently, NPS Store. He was a dedicated employee and loved working with his coworkers. He always did his best in whatever role he had. He received awards from FedEx and NPS for being an excellent employee.
Jon loved to play games with his friends and family. About once a week, you could find Jon at a local game store playing his favorites: Magic: The Gathering, Warhammer, and Zombicide. He also liked to play tabletop role-playing games, including D&D and Pathfinder. He often played card and board games with his family and friends. He brought fun, laughter, and a little bit of chaos. Everyone loved playing with Jon because he made the experience so enjoyable. He will be missed at many a table.
Jon was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. He loved to index and had indexed thousands of names at the time of his passing.
Jon had a heart of gold. If someone needed help, he was there to help as best he could. He loved his parents, siblings, and friends. Everyone who met Jon saw his strength, enthusiasm, kindness, and love. He left a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who had the blessing of knowing him.
Jon is survived by his parents, Gary and Vickie Caldwell; his brothers, Joel Caldwell, Jaimie (Maia) Caldwell, and Joshua (Mihoko) Caldwell; and his sisters, Melissa (Hyrum) Miller and Emily (Kyle) Jones. He is also survived by his fifteen nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and great-nephews.
Memorial Services will be held on July 28, 2025, at the Lindon Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
