5th annual Douglas County Rodeo returns September 5 – 7

The Thrill of the Ride returns in full force as the 5th Annual Douglas County Rodeo takes over the Douglas County Fairgrounds from September 5–7, 2025, with an expanded weekend of rodeo thrills, live entertainment, and small town charm. This year’s event will feature three full days of rodeo action, live entertainment, and community centered experiences.

“Every year, we aim to bring something new to the table, and this year is no exception,” says Bailey Sanchez, co-owner of DCR. “With an expanded music lineup and exciting new attractions, we’re proud to continue growing while also preserving the small town rodeo spirit our community loves.”

“Seeing the way this rodeo has brought people together year after year is something truly special,” Brooke Sullivan, co-owner of DCR adds. “From the rodeo action to the music to the community moments in between, we’ve worked hard to create an experience that feels personal, thoughtful, and full of heart.”

Weekend Highlights Include:

Thursday, September 4

  • Cow Pasture Boxing at TJ’s Corral, Carson Valley Inn. A mix of boxing, Muay Thai, and kickboxing, with potential guest appearances by legendary MMA fighters.

Friday, September 5

Saturday, September 6

  • Full day of classic rodeo action, local vendors, tattoo convention, and live country music from Aaron Watson.

Sunday, September 7

  • A new addition to the weekend: Community Day, free and open to the public, with Cowboy Church, jackpot team roping, barrel racing, vendor booths, and Kids Day activities.

“We’ve put a lot of heart into making this year’s rodeo something memorable for everyone,” says Justin Schlag, co-owner of DCR. “It’s a celebration of tradition, excitement, and community. We’re thrilled to welcome folks from near and far to be a part of it.”
