Myrna Sue Stevens, 76, formerly of Vincennes, passed away at her sister’s home in St. Louis, MO. Myrna was born October 17, 1948 in Vincennes as the daughter of James C. Hager and Bessie M. (McKee) Hager. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School and she continued her education receiving a degree in nursing from Vincennes University. She worked as a registered nurse at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Regional Hospital in Terre Haute, Daviess County Hospital in Washington. She in her later years worked as a traveling nurse. Myrna was devoted to her profession and her family.
Myrna is survived by her daughters, Heather Horner (married to Ben Horner) of Lawrenceville, IL and Martha Davis (married to Erica Davis) of Vincennes, IN; her grandchildren, Eli Horner (married to Emily Love), Spencer Horner (married to Seanna Rodrick), and Addison Stevens (engaged to Shay Robertson); and a great granddaughter, Remi J. Love. She is also survived by her sister, Carole Miller (married to John Miller) of St. Louis, MO; her nieces and nephew, Amy DeFrancesco, James Callahan, Pandy Hedge, and Cynthia Higdon; and her great nieces and nephews, Tyler, Jimmy, Clayton and Cally.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bessie Hager.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday July 26, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home with Pastor Ryan Lowery officiating. She will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery near her parents. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Memorial contributions can be made to the donor’s charity of choice. Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home is honored to assist Myrna’s family during their time of loss.
