Roger Earl Brown, age 76, passed away at Mercy Hospital on June 12,2025 with his loving wife by his side. He was born on March 30, 1949, in Whitewater, WI, the son of Raymond and Montabelle (Mole) Brown. He graduated from Milton High School in 1967.
Roger served in the U.S. Army until 1971, attaining the rank of SP5. He served in Vietnam, earning a Bronze Star for his exemplary service. On June 24, 1972, he married Karen Waller in Arkdale, WI. He worked at Gilman Engineering in Janesville, WI for 12 years, later retiring from Janesville Tool & Mfg in 2010. Roger had many hobbies, including collecting antiques, refurbishing & playing guitars, CB & Ham radio, woodworking, fishing trips, Boy Scout leader, building and flying model airplanes. Roger and his father, Ray, rebuilt a full-sized Luscombe airplane from two wrecked ones. He also proudly restored his dad’s 1936 International pickup truck, and loved showing it at car shows. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.
Roger is survived by his wife, Karen, son, Jason Brown, daughter, Lisa (Chris) Vogel, and grandchildren, Carly, Lexi, Colton, and Bo Vogel. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be at 11:00AM on June 24, 2025, at Albrecht Funeral Home, 828 S. Janesville St, Milton, WI. Visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00PM on Monday, June 23 at Albrecht Funeral Home, Milton and from 10:00AM until the time of services Tuesday. Burial will take place in Milton East Cemetery. The Brown family wished to extend their gratitude to the Veterans Hospitals & Clinics, and to the wonderful care and support from the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Special Care Unit at Mercy Hospital.
