Sandra Kay Bristow, 78, of Normal, formerly of Virden, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Carle BroMenn Medical Center in Normal. She was born July 11, 1943, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Charles E. Scott and Vivian E. Hannon. She married Ronald Lee Bristow on May 16, 1964 and he preceded her in death on August 9, 2011.
She is also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy Bristow and Tara (Randall) Bristow-Davis, both of Normal; two grandchildren, Aiden Stanislaus and Keegan Davis, with one on the way, due in March 2022; and her grand fur babies, Rosie, Cooper and Waggle.
Sandra graduated from Herculaneum High School in Missouri. She was a resident of Virden and Springfield most of her life. She was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed crafting, reading and writing. Sandra was musically gifted and played the steel guitar. She also loved to dance. She loved animals and was a defender and advocate of the underdog. Sandra was a legal study secretary for the University of Illinois at Springfield, retiring after 20+ years of service.
Graveside Service: 2:00 pm, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
