Nadine Naughton

Nadine Adrienne Naughton, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully in Lafayette CA at the age of 84 on June 30, 2025.

Born on January 13,1941, in Gary, Indiana, Nadine was the cherished daughter of William Naughton and Agnes Miller.

From a young age, she displayed a vibrant spirit—she was a proud Scottish Highland dancer and a spirited cheerleader during her high school years in Indiana.

With remarkable independence and determination, Nadine worked hard to pay her own way through Indiana University, where she earned her degree and laid the foundation for a successful professional life.

After college, with beloved family, Nadine made the bold move from Indiana to California, where she began the next chapter of her life.

She started her career as a teacher and later thrived in a decades-long role in sales and marketing at The Sequoias San Francisco, a dynamic and cosmopolitan retirement community. She was admired for her warmth, professionalism, and grace.

A devout member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in San Carlos, Nadine gave generously of her time as a volunteer and found joy in singing with the church choir. Her love of music, faith, and community were deeply woven into the fabric of her life.

Nadine loved gardening, traveling and running, which later turned into walking every day. She treasured time with her family and friends and shared an especially close bond with a circle of girlfriends affectionately known as “Les Girls.”

Nadine will be remembered for her humor, compassion, elegance and strong love for her family.

Nadine was predeceased by her parents and by her former husband, the late John Giangiacomo, with whom she shared two beloved children.

She is survived by her loving children, Mark (Tasha) Giangiacomo and Tina (Marty) Yogya, and her adored granddaughters, Amanda Giangiacomo and Maya Yogya.

She also leaves behind her devoted brothers, William (Noni) Naughton and James (Mary) Naughton, along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Nadine was the cherished long-time partner of John Shriver whom she leaves behind. Her love for Jack was incredibly strong as was his love for her.

The family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Lafayette Heights Residential Care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Clayton Valley Presbyterian Church in the Sanctuary, 1578 Kirker Pass Road, Clayton, CA, starting at 1PM PST on Saturday, August 30, 2025. Light food and drinks will be served afterwards in the Fellowship Hall adjacent to the Sanctuary.
