Helen DeCota

Argyle, Washington County

Helen Catherine DeCota passed away on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Glens Falls Hospital. She was 81.

Born in Pawlet, VT on January 3, 1944, daughter of the late William and Irene (Jackson) Gibbons. She is the widow of Patrick “Mike” DeCota who passed away in 2009.

Helen loved spending time with family and especially enjoyed gatherings with family at Crown Point. Above all she adored her grandchildren.

Survivors include her sons, James (Susan) DeCota and Michael DeCota (Tanya Allen), her grandchildren, Logan, Trinity, Lukas, Mikka, Faith and Ty, her siblings, Ruth Brundige, Ann Danaher and Chuck Gibbons.

In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her siblings Charlotte, Bobby, Billy and Dorothy.

Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 5-7:00pm at the Chase-Smith Family Funeral Homes, 729 Hudson Ave., Stillwater. Funeral service will be held Friday morning at 9:00am with burial to follow at 10:30am in the Saratoga National Cemetery.
