Stan Holmes

Stanley “Stan” Holmes, 82, of Cape May, NJ passed away peacefully at Crest Haven on May 19, 2025. He was born on July 3, 1942 in North Wildwood to the late Alice and Truman Palmer Holmes. Stan worked as a lifeguard as a young man before serving in the Army. Afterwards, he worked in his family’s restaurant, “Palmer’s Landing Inn” and went on to work in various restaurants and fisheries in the Cape May area. No one who ever met Stan could forget his love of life, his happy-go-lucky disposition, his sharp wit, or his teasing jokes. He was definitely one of a kind! Stan is survived by two daughters: Alice Marie Lees and Tracey Fala; his twin sister, Jacqueline M. McKnew; and his niece Kim McKnew and her children: Jaden and Simone Oprea. Stan was pre-deceased by two brothers: Truman Palmer Holmes, Jr. and William Holmes. To honor and celebrate Stan’s life, relatives and friends will be received on Friday (October 3, 2025) from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Spilker Funeral Home, 815 Washington St., Cape May.
