Bob L. Hampton, age, 94 of West Frankfort, went to be with his Lord and savior on Sunday May 11, 2025 at his residence.
He was born on January 24, 1931 in West Frankfort to Bluford Hampton and Myrtle ( Barnett ) Hampton. Bob was married to Diana (Willmore ) Hampton and they were married for 38 years until she passed away on March 13, 2012.
Bob is survived by a step son, Steve and Lori Mize of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, grandchildren, Roy Mize, Brandon and Katy Mize and Caitlin & Kacie Mize, great grandchildren, Riley Mize, Haley Mize, and Jaxon Mize.
Also surviving is a sister-in-law, Sandy Garrett, nephew, Jon and Barbara Stricker, nieces, Stacey and Keith Buckingham and Nicole Garrett, Roberta Stricker, Marylou Stricker and by a great niece, Ashley Buckingham. Also surviving is Ron and Heather Birkla
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Diana, by a daughter, Yvonne Hampton Dubach, a grandaughter, Audra Moroni, by a brother, James Hampton, brother-in-law and sister, Jim and Betty Stricker, by nephew, Jerry Stricker, great nephew Jason Hicks and nephew, Jimmy Stricker and by his mother-in -law and father-in-laws, Angelo and Carrie Fermo and by Dwight and Edna Willmore and by Nancy Gorley
Bob served his country in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954. He was avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan.
He was a member of the First Christian Church in West Frankfort.
He owned and operated Hampton’s Mens Wear in West Frankfort for many years and also worked for Taylor Motor Company in Benton as a car salesman.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at the Parker-Reedy Funeral Home in West Frankfort with Pastor TJ Gentry officiating. Burial will be in the Boner Cemetery south of West Frankfort. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion of Orient and the VFW.
Memorial contributions can be made to the First Christian Church in West Frankfort and will be accepted at the funeral home.
