In Loving Memory of Justin Tyler Barrett
Justin Tyler Barrett, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed away on June 9, 2025, at the age of 50 following an acute illness. Born on March 3, 1975, in Redlands, California, Justin was the cherished son of Jim and Tracie Barrett.
Justin is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 31 years, Jennifer Rebekah; their four sons, Devin (and Devin’s wife, Bailey Shumway), Bailey, Morgan, and Grayson; his loving parents, Jim and Tracie Barrett; his grandmother, Frieda Barrett and grandfather, Gerald “Biba” Smith; his sister, Ashlee, and brother, Bryson. He was preceded in death by Leo Barrett (grandfather) and Joann Smith (grandmother).
A man of great passions and deep convictions, Justin found joy in life’s many dimensions. He was an avid fan of UFC, with Georges St-Pierre being a favorite, and had a love for restoring furniture passed down from his grandfather “Biba.” His appreciation for music was wide-ranging—he especially enjoyed the sounds of Pearl Jam, Radiohead, and The Police—and he never missed an opportunity to relax with an action movie.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Justin was a constant and loving presence in the lives of his wife and children. He cherished family trips to Disneyland and embraced opportunities to explore the world through his professional travels.
Justin dedicated many years of service to the Provo Police Department before becoming Director of Security at doTERRA, where he was both respected and admired. A man of strong character and natural leadership, he was known for his impeccable style, calm demeanor, and the extraordinary ability to bring excellence to everything he undertook.
A viewing for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 19th at 5:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 6:00 p.m. The services will take place at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 267 West Weatherby Drive in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
Justin’s legacy of love, integrity, and strength will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Family and Friends are invited to share condolences and any photos in the Tribute Wall below.
