Charmaine Helen Soukup, age 93 of Yorkville, IL passed away on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at Presence Mercy Hospital in Aurora, IL. She was born on August 9, 1928 in Chicago, IL the daughter of Clayton and Mae (Vlk) Thiery.
Charmaine was united in marriage to Mr. Edward J. Soukup Jr. on September 25, 1948 and they spent the next 68 years happily together until his passing on September 12, 2016. Mrs. Soukup enjoyed playing Bingo, going out to eat and shopping at garage sales. During her later years, she spent many happy times at the Beecher Center in Yorkville, IL. Charmaine was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt who will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
Charmaine is survived by her children, Randy (Kris) Soukup of LaGrange, IL, Russell (Suzanne) Soukup of Glendale Heights, IL and Lisa (Richie) Lund, Jr. of Sugar Grove, IL; her eight grandchildren; her nine great-grandchildren; her sister, Nancy Serafini of Orland Park, IL; also several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clayton and Mae Thiery; her husband, Edward J. Soukup, Jr; and her brother-in-law, Phil Serafini; her sisters-in-law, Eleanor Cipra-Bara (Edward “Zip” Cipra & Edward Bara) and Evelyn (Laddie) Mastny.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1617 North Bridge Street in Yorkville, IL. Interment will follow in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery in Bristol, IL.
Friends may visit from 5:00 until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Funeral Home in Yorkville, IL.
