William H. Leonard

William H. Leonard, 85, of Springfield, died on Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Lincoln Village Nursing Home. He was born July 30, 1936, in Springfield, the son of Joseph and Sadie Kamees Leonard.

William is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Seth Leonard and one sister, Sandra Ballinger.

William is survived by his four sons, William “Billy” Leonard, Eric Leonard, Matthew Leonard, and Alexander Leonard.

William lived in Springfield for most of his life. He was of the Roman Catholic faith. He retired from Local #965 Operating Engineers. William was a US Navy veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed riding motorcycles.

A graveside service will be hosted by the family at 11 am, Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
