Wendy Louise Bell was born Aug. 17, 1953, in Kansas City, to Ann Redding Bell and Wendell Dean Bell, Wendy Louise Bell died in Houston, Texas, at Clear Lake Methodist hospital on Feb. 3, 2023, of a stroke, she was 69 years old.

Wendy attended George Washington Senior High School in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and later Graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. She was a member of Mortar Board and Beta Sigma Gamma International Business Honor Society. She later received a Master of Business Administration from San Jose State University.

Wendy was an exceptional skier and she graciously hosted her family and friends for many holidays in Vail, Colo., where she lived and worked in the land title business. After completing her MBA, Wendy worked in the semi conductor industry in the US and Japan and later for Intel Corporation.

While living in Newport Beach, Calif., where she was a member of the Balboa Yacht Club, she became a competitive sail boat racer. After retiring in 1991, Wendy volunteered for multiple charities including Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva (FOP), which struck her nephew Christopher at a young age. Wendy was also instrumental in raising money for the Performance Handicapped Racing Fleet of Southern California and the University of Colorado School of Business. She recently moved to Clear Lake, Texas, to be near her family and continue sailing.

Wendy Louise Bell was preceded in death by her parents, Ann and Wendell Bell; and her sister-in-law, Nancy McEnany Bell.

She is survived by her siblings, Mary Suzanne Bell of Houston (Clear Lake) and New Braunfels, Texas, James Perry Bell of Cedar Rapids, and Roxanne Bell Casscells of Washington, D.C. and Houston. Surviving nieces and nephews include Christopher Bell, Cody Bell, Sam Casscells, Henry Casscells and Lillian Bell Casscells.
