Timothy “Tim” Rockafellow, 66, of West Branch, Iowa, died on Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. Celebration of Life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Feb. 25, at Stone Creek Golf Course in Williamsburg, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Friends of West Branch Firefighter Foundation (P.O. Box 218, West Branch, IA) or Iowa Public Radio.

Tim was born on Sept. 15, 1956, in Mason City, Iowa, the son of Irving ”Rocky” and Rose Marie (Boyle) Rockafellow. In 1967, all 15 of the Rockafellow clan moved to Iowa City, where Tim graduated from Regina high school in 1974 and the University of Iowa in 1981.

He met his wife, Kim, while working at University Hospital School (now the Center for Disabilities and Development) in 1981. They were married in 1986 in Iowa City and moved to rural Iowa County where they had two children, Seth and Isaac. Tim worked in sleep medicine as a sleep technician at UIHC and later as Technical Director at ENT Sleep Center.

Tim enjoyed family, golfing with and without the Deadbeats or any time at Stone Creek Golf Course, politics, public radio, newspapers and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

He is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Seth (Jessica) Rockafellow and Isaac (Alyssa Marchetti) Rockafellow; brothers, Pat (Novelette) Rockafellow, Mike Rockafellow and Tom Rockafellow; sisters, Mona (Chuck) Eckermann, Paulette (Terry) Jones, Kathleen (Dave) Link and Mary Rockafellow; mother-in-law, Jan Tegeler; sisters-in-law, Amie (Bill) Rockafellow and Vicki (Craig) Ross; brothers-in-law, Joe (Suzette) Zoll and Mike (Kenna) Johnson; 18 nieces and nephews; 30 great-nieces and great-nephews; and many cousins, extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Irving “Rocky” and Rose Rockafellow; brothers, Todd, Bill and Jack Rockafellow; sisters, Suzette (Joe) Zoll and Lynn Apel; and fathers-in-law, Chuck Johnson and Bill Tegeler.
