Thomas John Romano

Thomas John Romano, age 75, of Plano, IL, most recently of Moline, IL lost his battle with cancer on Thursday, July 8, 2021. He was born on January 23, 1946 in Vineland, NJ the son of Rocco and Clara (Milano) Romano.

Tom was united in marriage on March 1, 1985 to the former Mary Ann Gebraski and they spent the next 36 years happily together. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Tom was employed as a Cook County Adult Probation Officer (26th & California) until his retirement. He then became a private investigator and was also employed by the City of Plano as a Police Commissioner and City Inspector. Tom was a 25 year member of the Plano Christian Church. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing the guitar, and studying the Bible.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Romano of Plano, IL; his children, Amber (Nick) Davis of Moline, IL, Sara Duffy of Yorkville, IL, Domenica (Sander Ikelaar) Romano of Amsterdam, Netherlands, Rocco Romano of Plano, IL, and Luke (fiancee Sarah Kuhn) Romano of Plano, IL; his grandchildren, Josephine, Jackson, and Juliette Davis of Moline, IL and Braxton and Joseph Duffy of Yorkville, IL; his sister-in law, Lee Romano of Plainfield, IL; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Rocco and Clara Romano; his brother Don Romano; and his sister, Barbara Romano.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home, 1010 W. South St., Plano, IL with Pastor Don Romano officiating. Interment will be private.

Friends may visit from 9:00 AM until the Hour of Service on Monday, July 12, 2021 at the Nelson Funeral Home in Plano, IL.
