Sylvester Svoboda, also known as “S.J.” and “Dutch”, age 100, of Sun City, AZ, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away on Aug 4, 2025.

Dutch owned and operated “Duchess Dry Cleaners” on 3rd Ave SW until retiring and moving to Arizona in 1974. Dutch is survived by his son, Dean Svoboda.

Dutch was preceded in death by his wife Dolores (Erger) Svoboda, his father and mother Joe and Tillie (Earsa) Svoboda, his brother Leon Svoboda, and his sisters Wilma (Svoboda) Cole and Adelaide (Svoboda) Cochran.

Dutch will be laid to rest at Sunland Memorial Park Cemetery, in Sun City, AZ. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy for the family may be shared at www.sunlandmemorial.com.
