Shirley Zumbrunnen, 76, died Friday evening, Dec. 9, 2022, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a brief illness.

Surviving are her two sons, Tom and Tony; her siblings, Dorothy Braver, Dick ( Marcella) Fleming, Bill (JoAnn) Fleming and Harold “Buzz”(Debbie) Fleming; and in-laws, Jerry (Maretta) Zumbrunnen and Wanda Zimmerman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean; siblings, Margaret, Irene and Dean; and in-laws, Betty Parsons and Linda Zumbrunnen.
Shirley May Flemming was born June 30, 1946, at Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ivan and Ruth Bider, Flemming. Shirley graduated from the Olin High School in 1964. She then started her 44-year career at Collins Radio, where she belonged to the IBEW. Shirley retired in 2009. Shirley married Dean Zumbrunnen on March 29, 1969, at Peace United Church of Christ in Monticello. The couple made their home in Monticello, where they raised their two sons. Dean preceded her in death in Dec. 26, 2008.
