Samuel Roy Ludvicek, 71, of rural Swisher, Iowa, joined his Savior in heaven on Friday August 2, 2024, at Solon Retirement Village. He died of cancer. Family will greet friends at the Clover Ridge Methodist Church, Walford, Iowa. Visitation Friday, August 9, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, August 10, 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. A memorial service is Saturday, August 10, 10:30 a.m. and burial at Castek Cemetery, rural Swisher, immediately following the service. Memorials may be directed to Bible Truth Publishers of Addison, Illinois and to the family. Kloster funeral home of Marengo is handling the funeral.

Sam was born June 28, 1953, in Cedar Rapids. He graduated from Prairie High School in 1971 and attended Kirkwood Community College, getting a degree in welding. He worked at Harnischfeger in Cedar Rapids for eight years, often speaking of Christ to souls who labored there. Later, he founded The Rock Mortgage Group in Sarasota, Florida and also was founder and CEO of Skyfire LEDs of Sarasota, Florida.

When Sam was 11 years old, he trusted Jesus as his personal Savior. At 22, he began winning souls for Christ, attending or leading Bible studies almost every night of the week! After retirement, Sam preached the good news of the gospel in various cities across the U.S. and Canada.

He was a loving husband, a protector, a faithful friend, a loyal confident. He was simply a great man of faith, standing on the promises of God. Loved by many, a brother beloved. Sam was gathered to the Lord’s name in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Sam is survived by his wife and soulmate for 43 years, Zebo Ramsay Ludvicek, their HONORARY daughter Stephanie Rule Smith (Brandon) of Raleigh, NC, his sister Joyce Boulard (Norman) of Louisville, KY, his sister Olive Ludvicek of Cedar Rapids, brother Paul Ludvicek of rural Swisher, sister Grace Nederhoff (Raymond) of North English, sister Gwen Williams of North English, sister Anita Jackson (Vincent) of Cedar Rapids, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Margaret Ludvicek, his father Emil Louis Ludvicek, brother Lyle Robert Ludvicek, brother Kenneth Carl Ludvicek and sister-in-law Linda Marie Ludvicek (Paul).
