Rosemary Eikner Divine

Rosemary Eikner Divine was born July 14,1927 to Turner Lawrence and Mary May Eikner in Omaha Texas and went to be with her Lord and Savior February 6, 2023, in Lubbock Texas at the age of 95. She was born and was raised in Omaha, Alvord, and Fort Worth Texas. She graduated from the Omaha High school and attended Texas Woman’s Collage for a short time before meeting the love of her life, Arthur Eugene (Gene) Divine, a young marine from Kentucky training at Eagle Mountain Lake north of Fort Worth. They were married in November of 1945. They had two sons, David Lee in 1946 and James Lawrence in 1951.

She was a dedicated wife, mother, homemaker, and friend to all she met. She moved and set up her homes as Gene‘s employers, RCA and then General Dynamics, transferred him to a new location every year or two until  his retirement. The locations included Fort Worth, Houston, Austin, Oklahoma City, Jackson Mississippi, San Diego, and two years in Ankara Turkey. Then after Gene’s retirement, Mount Pleasant, Granbury, Lubbock, Terrell, and Allan.

She became a Christian at a young age and attended a Baptist church with her family wherever they were living. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church in Lubbock Texas at the time of her passing. She was also a member of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

She was preceded in death by Gene Divine, her husband of 64 years and her younger son James Lawrence Divine. She is survived by her older son David Lee Divine and wife Donna Lee Bryant Divine, granddaughters Dawn Lee Divine-Carpenter and husband Clark, and Dana Lyn Divine, great granddaughters Brady Lyn Franklin Lewis and husband Drew, Mary May Franklin, Natalee Lynn Rogers, and great grandson David Randel Rogers, James Divine’s wife Jennifer Susan Rudd Divine, granddaughters, Rachel Anne Divine Anderson and husband Chad, Shannon Gene Divine Stovall and husband Brad, great granddaughters Jordan Divine Anderson, Lauren Elizabeth Anderson, Penelope Clare Stovall, and great grandsons Jonathan (Jack) Lawrence Anderson and William Shepard Arthur Stovall.

She loved her family, and her family loved her and will miss her. We are comforted knowing she is with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Gene, James and her mother and father. In lieu of flowers, donate to your favorite charity in her name.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 10:00 am at the Granbury Cemetery.
