Robert “Bob” W. Harmon

Robert “Bob” W. Harmon, 77, of Springfield, passed away on October 2, 2021 at home surrounded by his family.

Bob was born in Taylorville on November 20, 1943 to Bennie Harmon and Marie (Burke) Harmon and they preceded him in death. He also was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Long. He married Jane Bierman on August 24, 1973, and she survives.

He is also survived by his daughter, Kristina L. Hughes of Springfield; two sons, David R. (Rachel) Harmon of Girard and Steve D. Harmon of Springfield; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sharon and Shirley.

He was a mechancial engineer with the State of Illinois and the owner of Harmon Engineering Ltd., a United States Army Veteran, attendee of Little Flower Church, Post Commander of American Legion Post #32 and Post State Commander of Forty and Eight.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at Camp Butler National Cemetery where militay honors will be conducted.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight.
