Robert “Bob” Earl Swartz, 97, passed away Monday Aug. 14, 2023, in Anamosa. Per his wishes, there will be no services. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

Bob was born June 13, 1926, to Otis and Dorothy (Meek) Swartz in Anamosa, Iowa. He married Betty Thompson, and together they had two children. Bob worked many years for the Iowa DOT as a communications technician. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He loved his family and his two cats.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan (Mark); and his grandchildren, Annie and Gib.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; and his son, Tim.

Memorials may be directed to the Animal Welfare Friends in Monticello.
