Robert “Bob” C. Richmond, 80, of Marion, Iowa, formerly of Cranford, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 31, 2022, at UnityPoint-St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023, at Faith Bible Church in Cedar Rapids, with a celebration of life to follow at noon. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Bob was born on June 5, 1942, in Plainfield, N.J., the son of Stanley and Evelyn (Wood) Richmond. He was a graduate of Cranford High School in New Jersey and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in business and marketing from Rider College in Lawrenceville, N.J. Bob was united in marriage with Patricia E. O’Brien on Oct. 19, 1968, in Cranford, N.J. He served honorably in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked in sales management for several companies in New Jersey. Bob was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Cranford, N.J., for many years, serving as an usher, treasurer, and Deacon. Upon his retirement in 2005, he moved to Marion, where he volunteered at the Public Library. Bob enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, listening to classical music, and reading. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Bob is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia; children, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Richmond of Marion, and Karen (Julio) Diaz of Bethlehem, Pa.; three grandchildren, Connor, Keira, and Isabella; brother, Stanley (Loraine) Richmond of Branchburg, N.J.; sister, Susan (Arthur) Valladao of Lubbock, Texas; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
