Rebecca Mae Martin, 98, of Martelle, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2025, at The Views of Marion. Funeral Services: 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be private for the family at Linn Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include her children, Paul Martin of Veneta, Oregon, Shirley (Daniel) Barklind of Grants Pass, Oregon, and Darryl (Deb) Martin of Marion, Iowa;

nine grandchildren, Gidget, Todd, Tadd, April, Dwayne, Dawn, Jason, Eric, and Kiyan; 18 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren with one more on the way; brother, J.B. (Marjorie) Long of San Antonio, Texas; sister, Jo Bennett of Tipton, Iowa; sister-in-law, Jeanette Long of Eldridge, Iowa; brother-in-law, Donald Koppenhaver of Mount Vernon, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.

Becky was born on November 4, 1926, in Tipton, Iowa, the daughter of Hilbert and Zella (Benedict) Long. She was the fifth of their eight children. She graduated from Tipton High School in 1944. On June 22, 1946, she married Wayne Martin at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Becky loved to garden, was an avid reader, and worked crossword puzzles in her earlier years. She and Wayne wintered in Bonita Springs, Florida, where she took art classes and painted. Becky also loved music and dancing and was a member of the Linn Grove Presbyterian Church and Ladies Aid.

She was preceded in death her parents; her husband, Wayne; infant daughter, Marilyn; infant grandson, Brian Youngmon; and siblings, Vernon Long, Dorothy Taylor, Betty Fitch, Marjorie Dolan, and Nancy Marolf.
