Paul & Lois Gilhousen

Paul & Lois Gilhousen

On the evening of December 11, 2020, Paul Gilhousen, 93, passed away with his loving wife of 66 years, Lois by his side. Less than two years later, on June 15, 2022, Lois Gilhousen, 94, passed away and reunited with Paul and their Lord and Savior.

Paul and Lois were a loving husband and wife, parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. Family was important to both of them and they continued to remain close to their respective siblings over the years.

Always young at heart, Paul in his earlier years, was a saxophone player and later in life, served twice as Exalted Ruler of B.P.O.E. #510 at New Philadelphia. Paul was supportive and caring and enjoyed playing games as a pastime. Lois, always caring for those around her with class and style, was full of energy until the very end. Known as one-half of the twins, she spent a lifetime sewing and embroidering, leaving her loved ones with various examples of her craft.

Many of Lois and Paul’s favorite memories were made on “The Acres” they owned along Hothem Ridge in Bakersville.

To honor the memory of both Paul and Lois, the family will be hosting a celebration of their lives on Saturday, August 6, 2022, at Bakersville Presbyterian Church from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM. The family would also like to invite anyone who knew Paul and Lois to attend and share their memories.

The Linn-Hert-Geib Funeral Home & Crematory at New Philadelphia is handling the service arrangements.

Those wishing to do so may send the family a personal condolence and light a candle in remembrance of both Paul and Lois by visiting the funeral home’s website at www.GeibCares.com
