Nathan A. Benson

Nathan Alva Benson, 91 of Fletcher, NC passed away at Elizabeth House on July 2, 2022. He
was born on November 25, 1930, to Oscar and Grace Dale Benson in Delco, NC.

Nathan attended Mt. Pisgah Academy and was then drafted into the Army where he served as
Motor Pool Sergeant during the Korean War. Upon returning from the war he married Louise
Ringer. She was the love of his life for their 60-year marriage. Nathan worked as a clinical lab
technician in Florida, then started building houses. After moving to North Carolina in the early
1970’s Nathan enjoyed a long and productive career as a contractor and builder in Fletcher,
NC.

Nathan was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Grace Benson, his wife, Louise
Ringer Benson, and one brother, Ed Benson. He is survived by two sisters, Tina Sanders and
Verna Netland, three daughters, Sandy Worthen (Bill), Becky Christensen (Greg), Patti Lowery
(David), seven grandchildren, Trisha Robinson (John Paul), Holly Borton (Derrick), Russell
Worthen (Dean), Andrea Christensen (Zack), Caroline Foster (Will), Jonathan Lowery (Bree),
Allison Lowery, and nine great-grandchildren, Connor Robinson, Quinton, Lilly, Jacob and
Logan Borton, and Sierra, Emma, Phoebe, and Sadie Worthen.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Nathan’s honor to ADRA
(Adventist Development and Relief Agency) or radio station WFHC 855 Howard Gap Rd.
Fletcher, NC.

Funeral services will be Private.
